Your role will be to
•Ensure the cleanliness of the Transport yard.
•Conduct vehicle preparation and temperature control of the fleet in line with policies and standard operating procedures.
•Ensure vehicles are cleaned and ready for use in a roadworthy condition, according to demand.
•Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles at all times by washing the vehicle exteriors, sanitising the vehicle trailers as well as cleaning and tidying the vehicle interiors.
•Control the movement of vehicles within the yard ensuring the correct vehicles are available for loading and loaded vehicles are removed from the bays in a timely manner.
•Ensure all vehicles are re-fuelled prior to departure and perform daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicles are safe for use by HGV drivers.
•Support Drivers in the unloading of vehicles when required.
•Support the warehouse in order picking including use of FLT when required.
•Undertake housekeeping duties both within the yard and also internally within the warehouse ensuring that all areas are clean and tidy.
The successful applicants will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern which includes weekends and bank holidays.
•Ideally candidates will have previous experience working. in vehicle preparation with experience of hygiene procedures
•Hold the ‘Control of Substances Hazardous to Health’ (COSHH) certificate
•Have an understanding of the standards and equipment required in the chilled food industry.
•Candidates should also have experience within a warehouse and ideally hold a valid FLT licence.
•The role requires you to undertake vehicle movements within the transport yard therefore you will be required to hold a valid shunters licence or a Class 1 HGV licence.
•The role is based outside in the transport yard and will require someone who is physically active as due to the nature of the role you may be required to deal with heavy goods.
•It is essential that you are able to work as a team and have good communication skills as you will be liaising with the warehouse to ensure vehicles are available on time and in line with the demand.
