Transport Clerk
Location: Central Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:30
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

About the Role:
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Clerk to join a busy and well-established business based in Central Birmingham. This is a full-time, office-based role working day shifts, supporting the daily running of a fast-paced transport department.

Duties will include:
  • Downloading and managing driver tachograph cards and vehicle unit data
  • Debriefing drivers daily and ensuring all paperwork and compliance requirements are completed accurately
  • Compiling, checking and filing transport documentation and records
  • Scheduling and monitoring vehicle servicing, maintenance, and MOTs
  • Liaising with drivers, workshops, and management to ensure efficient operations
  • Supporting transport planning activities when required
  • Maintaining compliance with transport legislation and company policies

The Successful Candidate:
  • Previous experience in a transport office is Essential
  • Strong understanding of tachograph compliance, driver hours, and fleet maintenance schedules
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with good IT skills (Microsoft Office, transport systems)
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Transport planning experience is also Essential
