Production Planner

We are currently recruiting for a Production Planner to work at our well-established, prestigious and ever growing company based in Hull.


Ensure goods manufactured are produced in a cost effective way that meet quality specifications.
Makes sure that goods are ready to distribute to customers in a timely fashion.
Improve the business's production and distribution processes.
Ensure production and distribution runs smoothly.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Development of production plans and transport schedules to achieve production and delivery objectives
Create and issue any sub-assembly schedules to Line Manager
Planning of galvanising schedules and liaising with Line Manager and Goods in Supervisor to ensure correct quantities and kitting of components is achieved
Monitoring of material stock levels working alongside Goods in Supervisor and Purchasing Manager
Communicate importance of coordination of materials to ensure smooth material flow from delivery to build
Liaising with Purchasing Team to ensure material availability when required in time for manufacture
Liaising with Sales Team to determine customer requirements
Contingency planning should there be any shortfalls in production
Troubleshooting problems that occur during production including machinery malfunctions
Collecting and assessing data about production and line's performance
Prepares report about production processes for Senior Management and suggest ways to improve efficiency
Collaborate with Quality Control, Production and other staff members
Ensure Line Managers and Transport Coordinator receive relevant works instructions i.e. job packs, production plans/schedules and any other requirements and all are kept informed of any changes to production

Essential Requirements

At least 5 GCSE's grade C or above including Maths and English (or equivalent)
Proven work experience as a production planner
Working with an MRP System
Understanding of business operations
Production planning
Manufacturing processes
Quality Control standards
MS Office products
Organisational skills
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
Ability to meet deadlines
Problem solving skills
Analytical skills
Detail orientated
Proactive work ethic (Positive)
Good timekeeping and attendance
